Wedding Gown Preservation: Everything You Need to Know

Your wedding gown is a priceless memory - a symbol of one of the best days of your life. You put so much thought, time, and money into finding the perfect wedding gown, and then after the wedding you hang it in the closet and have no idea what to do with it. Several years (maybe even decades) go by and you dig to the depths of your closet ... there is your wedding gown - still soiled on the bottom from all the dancing and now the lace and beading is starting to yellow!

Before you hang that dress in the closet... read this! We have partnered with Wedding Gown Preservation Company to provide you a way to preserve your gown and all of its memories for generations to come.

What is Wedding Gown Preservation?

Your wedding gown is important to us, and we know how important it is to you. That is why we provide only the best when it comes to handling such a precious item. We use Wedding Gown Preservation Company for all of our wedding gown preservation needs. They are a family-run business that's been based in Endicott, NY since 1913. (Yes, you read that right! Over 100 years of preserving wedding gowns.) We have been an authorized dealer of WGP for over 20 years - so you can rest assured your gown will be handled with the utmost care throughout the process. Being a family-run business ourselves, we enjoy working with them to provide brides a way to preserve the memories from their day.

Wedding Gown Preservation Co. will professionally and thoroughly clean and preserve each wedding gown that is sent to them. They use proven methods to ensure that most stains - both visible and invisible - are removed. Their modern lab and equipment preserve every gown with a proprietary treatment developed to prevent yellowing and discoloration. Once your gown is preserved, they guarantee it for 100 years inside the box!

The Wedding Gown Preservation Process

The Process

Wedding Gown Preservation Company places the highest degree of professional care into the preservation process.

- They utilize organic, completely biodegradable solvents to remove spots and thoroughly clean the entire gown, with extra attention to the neckline, trim, and hemline.

- The experts shape the gown, position it on a full bust form, and fill the sleeves. It is then fitted carefully into an acid-neutral preservation chest with an acid-free display window. The preservation chest is then enclosed in a 700 lb. test shipping carton.

- Your wedding gown is then shipped back to you pre-paid anywhere in the continental United States via UPS - signature required.

The preservation process takes about 4-10 weeks after the gown is received. For more information about the preservation process, watch this video below!
