Megan & Terry's love story is the kind that never goes out of style. High school sweethearts turned forever partners, the two celebrated their summer wedding with effortless vintage vibes and classic Southern charm. Set at the historic Lumpkin House, their day felt warm, romantic, and full of timeless details - proof that some love stories are simply meant to last!

The Diane's DRESS!

Diane's Bride Megan found her dream wedding gown in Essense of Australia #D3837 — a glamorous Art Deco gown with intricate beading and luxurious fabrics. Megan wanted to look classy, timeless, with a vintage vibe, and bring a touch of southern charm. This gown embodied everything she dreamed of on her special day!

"It was a wonderful experience that my mother and I were able to share. I was visiting family in town, and my mother thought to look at your website to see if there was an opening for a time slot to look at wedding dresses. We found out the next morning, around 9 am, I believe, that there was an opening same day, so naturally, I ran to TJ Maxx just in case I found my dream dress. My mother and I both found our dresses on the same day; my wedding dress and her mother of the bride dress.

My absolute favorite part of my experience at Diane's was that my mother found her wedding dress at Diane's in 1991. My mother and I are best friends, and being able to experience this together was even more special. I had looked at a few different dresses, but then my consultant picked out a dress she thought I would like, and I knew when I saw it that it was going to be the one. I loved it, it fit my body well, fit all my Pinterest wedding board check-offs, and I felt great in it. It was the one! My one and only, last-minute that is, wedding dress appointment, and I found my dream wedding dress!!"

Tell us about your Love!

We met in high school when we were both freshmen, and we started dating the summer before our senior year. We dated on/off in college, but we found our way back to each other. We both knew each other were it. During the winter, when it had snowed, Terry took me to the Top of the Rock restaurant in Jasper, TN, to have dinner in an igloo. Then, in the summer, he took me back to the same restaurant we experienced for a fancy dinner (or so I thought) before we both started our careers after graduating from college. However, what he actually had in mind was to propose. I had no idea! We walked to the pavilion and out to the viewing area to look at the views. It had just rained and was turning into a beautiful sunset. I turned around to see Terry on one knee with the biggest smile on my face. I, of course, said yes! It was my dream to marry my ginger!

The Wedding Day!

Our wedding day was the most beautiful, special day. It was a beautiful summer wedding day - and hot! That's why we had handkerchiefs for all the ladies to dab as they saw fit - got to have the southern charm in there! We got married in front of a southern-looking white wood 2-story home with columns out front, and had garden-style flowers down the aisle. We had yard games in the back with a bar for refreshments as our guests waited to start eating dinner, cutting the cake, and dancing the night away!

During our ceremony, we sang a worship song to give God all the glory for the day, a prayer with our families together before joining as one, and a feet washing ceremony that truly was a moment of humility, love, and care, the same way Jesus washed the feet of his disciples. My most special moment of the day was Terry and I sharing our private written vows. We had our first look and then read our vows to each other. It was such a pure moment of love and care for each other before we stood before our friends and family to join as one. We had a photo booth and plenty of good vibes on the dance floor to help us end our day the best way possible! It was a dream come true!
